Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), which is hogging limelight over alleged connection between evaluation centre employees and colleges since BEd second semester exam pass percentage was found to be ‘unbelievably high’, has been not implementing norm aimed at checking malpractice at evaluation centre.  About a year ago, the executive council of DAVV had taken a decision to replace OSDs at evaluation centre in every two years.

Besides, it was also decided that one OSD will look after evaluation work for a particular subject for only one year. The EC had directed the university to immediately implement the decisions but the directives fell on deaf ears.  Despite passing off nearly a year for the directives, the OSDs working at evaluation centre for several years have not been replaced.  “Some OSDs are working at evaluation centre for seven to eight years,” an officer wishing anonymity said.

Vice chancellor Dr Narendra Dhakad stated that they want to replace the OSDs but could not find their replacements. “No teacher wants to work at evaluation centre. You can’t force them to work so did not change. If we receive complaint against any OSD we will remove him immediately,” he added.

Decision on Tiwari after review report
A day after exam controller Ashesh Tiwari tendered resignation, vice chancellor Dr Narendra Dhakad said that the decision on his resignation hinges on report of sample review of BEd second semester answer books. “Currently, sample review of answer books is going on. Once the report is submitted to me, I will see the report and take further course of action. Decision on resignation by Tiwari also hinges on the report,” Dhakad said.

The VC had ordered for sample review of BEd second semester exam answer books when it was learnt that the passing percentage is 96. Tiwari had objected to the review saying that if the university went ahead with it, he would resign. He had tendered his resignation letter to the VC on Wednesday.  Meanwhile, the review of answer books is going on. The report is expected on Friday.
