Indore: The crime branch team nabbed two persons for possessing illegal country-made weapons and live cartridges in Kanadiya area on Thursday.
Acting on a tip off, crime branch team nabbed Mohsin Aziz, a resident of Khajrani Kakad, with a country made 12 bore gun and live cartridges.
During investigation, the accused confessed that he purchased the weapon from a sikligar from Khargone. He also informed police that his friend Sameer Alias Babar also went with him to purchase the weapon following which police nabbed him as well. Police recovered a 315 bore country-made weapon and live cartridges from Sameer.
During investigation, police found that Mohsin is an autodriver and Sameer works as a labourer at an iron plate-making factory. The accused confessed to have purchased the illegal weapons and live cartridges from a sikligar in Khargone and paid him Rs 17,000. The accused also confessed that they are good friends and recently they went to Kajligarh and fired two cartridges to test the weapons. The police suspect that the accused were planning to commit a crime and had thus “procured” the weapons.
