Indore: An order copy of appointments of self-finance course staff at Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) has reportedly gone “missing” from the university’s records even as several people smelling the rat into the recruitment process has filed applications under Right To Information Act.

In March last year, the DAVV had appointed nearly 110 employees working with DAVV for more than 10 to 20 years. Since then, they have been getting revised salary but nobody seems to have copy of appointment orders. “I had filed an application seeking information on recruitments of self-finance non-teaching employees about two months ago but the information had not been provided to me as yet,” said Nitin Kumar, an activist.

He claimed that the newly appointed employees who are hand in glove with establishment department staff had removed the appointment orders from DAVV’s record as all was not well with the appointments. As per information, the university had got a sanction of 254 posts from the department of higher education under self-finance scheme.

As per rules, the DAVV was told to appoint the employees giving preference to those working with the university for past many years on contract or daily wages. The university was supposed to advertise the posts and then fill the vacancies by giving preference to already working employees.

The university reportedly appointed the staff without advertising the posts. It only appointed those employees who were working with the university and kept the remaining posts vacant. Deputy registrar (establishment) Vinay Tayade declined to comment on the matter.

HoDs not having order copies

Heads of university teaching departments who gave joining to employees are also reportedly not having copy of the orders. Sources said employees who were appointed showed the order copy to their respective department heads and then kept the copy with themselves. As per rules, the HoD should have one copy of the appointment order.
