Indore: Senior BJP leader Satyanarayan Sattan has become poster boy for local Congress unit after he made unsavoury comments against Sumitra Mahajan, the Lok Sabha Speaker and eight-time Member of Parliament from Indore. Congress activists on Saturday launched a door-to-door campaign while appealing to people to vote in favour of Congress party in forthcoming Lok Sabha elections and also to make people aware about Mahajan’s inactivity.
Congress activists led by Devendra Singh Yadav conducted campaign from Mhow Naka to Malganj carrying posters of Satyanarayan Sattan, which showed his comments against Mahajan. “We have decided to make people aware of works initiated by Members of Parliament and also about inactivity of BJP MPs. We’ve started campaign from Indore and will take it to every ward and gram panchayat,” Yadav said.
The Congress party condemned Modi-led government for not fulfilling its promises made during last Lok Sabha elections while two-month old Kamal Nath government in Madhya Pradesh has fulfilled 86 promises in last 73 days. “Satyanarayan Sattan spoke truth and has challenged his own party for proposing to give ticket to Sumitra Mahajan again. We support his statement and respect him for speaking the truth. We are informing people about BJP leader’s views and appealing to them to think before electing Mahajan again from Indore,” Yadav said.
