Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Collector Asheesh Singh has asked bus operators to operate the vehicles only on designated routes, not to pick up passengers anywhere along the way, and not to park on the roads.  In a Friday meeting with operators plying buses on All India Tourist Permit and Stage Carriage Permit, Singh gave them three days to comply with the rules.

After that, the Transport Department and Traffic Police will launch a joint operation to seize defaulting buses. Smart City CEO Divyank Singh, Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Pradeep Sharma, and officials of other related departments were present at the meeting, where it came up that busoperators obstruct traffic by parking their buses anywhere in Gangwal Bus Stand, ChhotiGwaltoli, Navalakha, Piplyahana, Ring Road, and Teen Imli area.

These buses then cause traffic jams, increasing the possibility of accidents. Bus operators were then instructed to start operating their vehicles from their designated place within three days.

Collector Singh also directed the SDMs of the concerned areas to identify spots and ensure there are proper parking arrangements. He also instructed the RTO to hold a meeting with the auto rickshaw operators as well and give necessary guidelines in this regard. During the meeting, suggestions were also taken from bus operators.
