Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan virtually inaugurated the Sarwate Bus Stand in Indore on Monday. Now, the buses would start running from the stand.

The municipal commissioner Pratibha Pal said that almost all the buses which used to function earlier would resume from the bus stand. A Food Zone has been set up for passengers on the first floor of the Bus Complex. The bus stand would connect Siyaganj and Railway Station.

Pal further said that there would be a route for city buses as well at the bus stand. The travellers visiting Indore could easily commute in the city through the cheapest way of public transport instead of private cabs, taxi and auto rickshaws.

Around 500 buses would be operated from the bus stand daily in which a few would be City buses, she added.

The interstate connecting buses will not operate from the Bus Stand. The buses connecting different districts of MP and nearby cities will only operate from the bus stand.

The interstate buses will remain in operation from Gangwal Bus stand and other bus stands of the city, Pal said.
