Indore: A 40-year-old builder and property dealer was shot dead by some unidentified persons in full public view near Vijay Nagar police station on Wednesday evening. The victim was heading towards his Mercedes car when the shooters opened fire on him before fleeing in a white car. Police said four bullets hit the victim.
The entire incident was captured in CCTV installed in a nearby building but the accused could not be identified till late night. Police suspect that he was killed over money matter. Superintendent of Police (east) Awadhesh Goswami said that the incident took place in the service lane of Cross Road Building in Vijay Nagar around 7 pm. Builder Sandeep Agrawal alias Sandeep Tel, a resident of Paliwal Nagar was at his office, Lenard Export Pvt Ltd on the first floor of Cross Road Building of the IDA from where he came downstairs and was opening the car door when 3 to 4 persons came in a white car from Bapat Square side and fired about 4 to 5 bullets on him.
Police said four bullets hit his abdomen, rib, leg and one bullet passed touching his chick. After the firing, the accused quickly fled the scene. Sandeep was rushed to a hospital where he died during treatment late in the night. The entire incident was captured in CCTV installed on the first floor of the building but their (shooters) faces are not clear.
A panic like situation prevailed among traders and commuters. After seeing the shootout, many traders even downed their shutters. However, they later opened their shops when police reached the spot. The traders and people could not give any information about the shooters to the police. 2 opened fire on him The first CCTV installed on the ground floor was checked by the police but the incident was not clearly captured in it because of a hoarding.
Later, police checked another camera installed on the first floor in which two persons with two pistols reached there when Sandeep was opening car door. The accused fired three bullets on Sandeep and he fell near his car. After a few second, another shooter reached near Sandeep and fired one more shot on him which hit his leg. In another CCTV, the shooters were captured coming in a white car.
