Indore: As Congress activists wait for party to declare candidate from Indore Lok Sabha seat, the party leaders are waiting for BJP to declare the name first. Senior Congress leader and PWD minister Sajjan Singh Verma said party’s candidate will be declared within one hour after BJP declares its candidate. “We have shortlisted names of five strong candidates and will field any of them as they all have ability to win,” he said. However, Verma denied disclosing the names of candidates. He was talking to mediapersons on sidelines of Holi programme organised here on Sunday.

When asked why is Congress party waiting for BJP, Verma said saffron party is winning for several years and therefore it should declare the candidate first.  The PWD minister said Congress will definitely win the seat this time as sitting BJP MP Sumitra Mahajan has been inactive.  Verma condemned BJP general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya for his statement to dissolve Congress government after Lok Sabha election. “Kailash Vijayvargiya is seeing Mungerilal ke haseen sapne’, which will never come true,” he remarked.

Verma denied that Congress party plans to field film actor or cricketer from any seat in Madhya Pradesh. “They never proved good for the party,” he said.  Meanwhile, sports and youth welfare minister Jitu Patwari too targeted Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan and said that even BJP is tired of her. “BJP is taking time in declaring the candidate because they are too tired of Sumitra Mahajan. Like the party has sidelined its founder, they are planning to sideline Mahajan as well,” Patwari said. The minister compared BJP with Ravana and said that BJP will lose election because of arrogance, which brought Ravana’s downfall.

We will win 20 seats in state
Home minister Bala Bachchan said, “We will win at least 20 seats in Madhya Pradesh and Rahul Gandhi will definitely become prime minister. BJP has sidelined Mahajan as they knew that they will not win seat now.”

Party leaders dance on Holi beats
Enjoying the ‘Holi Milan’ with more than 2000 activists, Congress leaders including Sajjan Singh Verma, Vinay Bakliwal, Archana Jaiswal and others danced on Holi beat. It was for the first time when Congress organised any programme outside their party office in which leaders and ministers participated.

200 BJP activists join Congress
Meanwhile, about 200 BJP activists including Khajrana’s Annu Patel and activists of Dindayal Smriti Manch joined Congress at the function.
