Indore: Bike thieves, four college students among 7 arrested

Indore: Police on Thursday arrested seven persons, including four college students, for stealing vehicles from different places of the city. Police also seized seven stolen vehicles from their possession. One of the accused was wanted in connection with robbery at a petrol pump in the city. According to Bhanwarkuan police station incharge Sanjay Shukla, Sub Inspector Shivram Tarole had received a tip-off that two persons were waiting near a restaurant between Navlakha and Teen Imli to sell a stolen bike. After the information, Tarole along with a team reached at the spot and cordoned off the area but youths managed to escape from there. However, police team managed to arrest them from near the bridge on Teen Imli Square after a long chase.

The youths identified as Pankaj Baghel and Prakash Nigwal of Bagh, Dhar told that the bike was stolen from near Teen Imli bus stand on January 31. They told that their accomplices Raju Malviya, Satosh Bhuriya, Krishna Jamra, Madhav alias Madhu Mandloi and Hira Singh Baghel, residents of Bagh district Dhar were also involved in vehicle lifting with them. Police later arrested them too.

Accused Pankaj is a BA first year student in a college at Rau and he stays in hostel of DAVV. Raju is pursuing BSW from a city college and resides in a rented accommodation in Pawanpuri area. Prakash Nigwal is BA first year student from Sanskrit College and stays in Musakhedi area and Madhav is pursuing BEd from a city college. Their criminal records are also being collected. Madhav was booked in Bagh in connection with a loot case while Krishna was on the run in connection with a robbery at petrol pump.
