Indore: Nearly two-and-a-half years after it earned Association of MBAs (AMBA) accreditation, Indian Institute of Management Indore has received AACSB accreditation which makes it one of the few institutes across the nation to have a “Double Crown”.

But the institute is now eagerly awaiting third international accreditation i.e. EQUIS accreditation to become second b-school in the country after IIM Calcutta to have “Triple Crown”. If IIM Indore would be awarded EFMD Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) accreditation by EFMD, it would become an institution with “Triple Crown” (three accreditations).

IIM Indore stated that it had applied for EQUIS accreditation about two years back and it is hopeful of getting the accreditation this year itself. There are nearly 90 bschools, including IIM Calcutta which was got combination of three accreditations in 2016, across the world with “Triple Crown” accreditation. However, the institute, as of now, is celebrating the news of receiving AACSB accreditation.

“We congratulate IIM Indore and director Prof Himanshu Rai on earning AACSB accreditation, and applaud the entire IIM Indore team—including the administration, visitors, faculty, staff, and students— for their roles in earning this respected honor,” said Stephanie M Bryant, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB International.

Synonymous with the highest standards of quality, AACSB accreditation inspires new ways of thinking within business education globally and, as a result, has been earned by only 5 percent of the world’s schools offering business degrees at the bachelor level or higher. Today, 831 institutions across 54 countries and territories maintain AACSB accreditation.

Furthermore, 189 institutions maintain a supplemental AACSB accreditation for their accounting programs. “IIM Indore is delighted to be a part of the coveted group of accredited institutions by AACSB and this is a result of our sustained effort to be a contextually relevant and socially conscious world class institution.

I am particularly grateful to the AACSB peer review team, which helped us streamline our systems better with their insightful feedback. We will continue to become better in everything that we do,” said IIM Indore director Himanshu Rai. AACSB accreditation provides a framework of 15 international standards against which business schools around the world assess the quality of their educational services.

These standards ensure continuous improvement and provide focus for schools to deliver on their mission, innovate, and drive impact. AACSB-accredited schools have successfully undergone a rigorous review process conducted by their peers in the business education community, ensuring that they have the resources, credentials, and commitment needed to provide students with a first-rate, future-focused business education.

“IIM Indore’s commitment to earning accreditation is a true reflection of their dedication—not only to their students, alumni network, and greater business community, but to the higher education industry as a whole,” said Bryant. “Today’s students are tomorrow’s business leaders, and the addition of IIM Indore to the network of AACSB-accredited business schools will have a lasting positive impact for their institution, both locally and globally.”
