A 60-year-old man was killed by some unidentified persons in Betma area on Thursday. He was kidnapped by the accused when he was returning from Dhar and later killed in an isolated place. Police have detained two suspects in connection with the case.  Betma police station in-charge DS Chouhan said that Shivjiram Patel, a resident of Chhota Tigariya village in Dewas, was found murdered near Betma on Friday morning.

During investigation, it was found that he was attacked by someone with a heavy object.  Preliminary investigation revealed that Shivjiram had gone to Nalchha and was returning home when he was stopped by the accused and was taken to isolated place. Police said his body was found far away from Dhar Road so it is believed that he was abducted by the killers, who killed him using a blunt object.  Police investigation suggested that Shivjiram was embroiled in a land dispute and was possibly killed by the accused. Police are questioning the suspects further.
