Indore: City police on Sunday arrested two persons in connection with mobile phone theft in MG Road area. About 32 mobile phones worth Rs 3.50 lakh were recovered from accused.
City Superintendent of Police (Central Kotwali) BPS Parihar said trader Deepak Suryawanshi had lodged a complaint with MG Road police station staff in February that 37 mobile phones were stolen from his shop situated in Euro Market.
Superintendent of Police (east) Mohammad Yusuf Qureshi had formed a team led by MG Road police station incharge RK Chaturvedi to trace the accused. During the examining of CCTVs, two suspects were captured near the spot but they had covered their face. Since then, the accused were being searched.
Recently, acting on a tip-off, police team arrested two persons named Rajat Verma of Bholenath Colony and Manish of MG Road area. They allegedly confessed to have stolen mobile phones from the shop. Following the lead given by the accused, police recovered 32 mobile phones worth Rs 3.5 lakh from them. Accused said they sold some mobile phones in Vidisha district to cover up their crime. A police team has been sent to Vidisha to recover other mobile phones.
