Indigo to start direct flight to Goa; more flights to Mumbai, Delhi

* Airlines releases schedule and fare * Flights to start from April 16

Indore : The country’s fastest moving private airline Indigo Airlines here on Thursday announced to start its maiden direct flight from the city to Goa, and their second direct flights to Mumbai and New Delhi from April 16. The airlines released the schedules of the flights and promised attractive fares to lure the passengers. The increasing number of air passengers encouraged the airlines to introduce the new lights.

Indigo is the first airlines to introduce direct flight from the city to Goa. The aircraft for the Goa flight will also avail the connectivity for Raipur and Kolkata.

According to the schedule the aircraft (flight no. 252) will depart from Kolkata at 6.50 am and arrive at the city airport via Raipur at 9.50 am. From the city airport the flight will further depart for Goa at 10.15 am and reach the world famous tourist destination at 1.05 pm.

From Goa the flight 6E 245 will arrive at the city airport at 2.50 pm and depart for Kolkata via Raipur at 3.20 pm and reach the Kolkata airport at 6.25 pm.

Similarly the schedule for Delhi and Mumbai direct flights is also released. After departure from Delhi airport at 11.10 am the flight will arrive at the city airport at 12.30 pm and depart for Mumbai at 1.00 pm and reach Mumbai at 2.10 pm. After departure from Mumbai at 2.50 pm the flight will arrive at the city airport at 4.20 pm and depart for New Delhi at 5 pm and land at the North metropolis at 6.20 pm. Hemendra Singh Jadon of the Travel Agents Association informed that the fare for Indore-Goa and Indore-Bombay is priced at Rs 3200, and Rs 2750 for Indore-Delhi flight.

TK Jose of Jose Travels however expressed doubt that the airlines might withdraw the direct flight for Goa from October. He said that due to the construction work at Ahmadabad Airport the airlines might have diverted its Goa-Ahmadabad flight to Indore-Goa direct flight.

However, the airlines have used the opportunity of summer vacation. Jose said that there is a great scope for Indore-Goa direct flight and the flight will also provide the international tourists a better option to visit the city and MP as well.
