INDORE : The Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) is all set to roll out its new plan for making the city spic and span. However, some senior civic body officials described it as an expansion of special cleaning drive that was being carried out on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

“A meeting in this regard was called by the Mayor and measures to clean and maintain sanitation in the city were discussed. So far no concrete decisions were taken but soon the city would have a new and updated system for cleanliness,” said Rajendra Rathore, in-charge of Solid Waste Management Department.

He said that 19 zones of the city would be divided into 85 wards and accordingly cleaning would be done. An action plan in this regard is being made. Reportedly, the IMC has issued several notices to the company for its negligent behaviour.

But the pleas of the civic authority fell on deaf ears. Sources said that at present A2Z is lifting 180 tons of garbage while the IMC itself is lifting 450 tons from the city. Meanwhile, the IMC started taking the charge before the expiry of A2Z’s term.
