Oil spill from tanker |
Bagh (Dhar district, Madhya Pradesh): A tanker filled with edible oil rolled from the bus stand bypass valley in reverse and rammed shops before colliding with an electrical transformer here on Monday morning.
The bike riders and people standing at bus stand ran away from the spot to save lives. No casualty was reported.
Oil from the tanker spilled on the road and some bikes skidded. Many people collected edible oil oozing out of tanker in cans. On receiving information, tehsildar Sunil Davar and Bagh police team reached the spot. The slippery road was washed by fire brigade as power supply remained shut in the town because the transformer collapsed.
The site is accident prone as Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation Limited has not widened the road passing through valley. Heavily loaded vehicles are unable to move up or go back, which often cause accidents.
People at the bus stand and shopkeepers panic everytime heavily loaded vehicles are unable to drive up the bypass valley. Though no major accident has been reported so far, the drive is risky.
