Indore : In a major relief to the students, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya has instructed colleges not to levy penalty on those students who have filled the online examination forms within the prescribed time limit but submitted the printouts late.
Deputy registrar (exams) Prajwal Khare said that they have sent instructions to the colleges in this regard.
“There was confusion on the recovery of penalty on late submission of printouts of examination forms which we have clarified.
Students who have filled the online examination forms within the stipulated time limit but submitted printouts late should not be charged a late fee,” Khare said.
He said that many colleges were charging late fees from students for submitting the printouts of the filled examination forms after the deadline for filling the exam forms passed.
“The penalty should be levied only when students fill online examination forms after the deadline for the same has passed and not for submission of printouts of the forms,” Khare said.
The instructions come following complaints from the students regarding the same.
Khare, however, said that students are required to submit printouts of the examination forms in their respective colleges ahead of the exams so that the same could reach the university for verification.
The instructions have come as a major relief to the students who for the past three years have been paying penalties for the submission of printouts of filled examination forms late.
The university had made examination forms submission online about three years ago.
