Indore : Indore is all set to get more train facilities in the next railway time-table to be released in October. In the new time-table there would be a provision to make Kochuveli and Sealdah trains as holiday specials and steps would be taken to reduce time of Pune-Indore Express.
Similarly, provisions would also be made to run AC Double-Decker between Indore and Baroda. These developments could be seen as the result of meeting held between Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan and Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu on August 6 in New Delhi.
During the meeting, Mahajan drew the attention of Prabhu about the necessity of more train facilities in the city. Sources said that from October 1, Pune-Indore Express would be made Super Fast train and its timings and number would also be changed. The will reach the city railway at least 1.20 hours early.
Similarly, Kochuveli and Sealdah trains will run as weekly holiday specials from next month. The date of starting of the trains not yet disclosed. Both the trains will continue to run as Holiday specials till Diwali. Kochuveli will continue to run on its present day and time. However, Sealdah train will run on every Monday.
WR seeks opinion of CRS on Double-Decker
Double Decker, which is currently running between Indore and Bhopal, is likely to run between Indore and Baroda soon. The Western Railway has approached the Commissioner Railway, Safety for its running via Ujjain, Nagda and Ratlam and also sought safety report.
Meanwhile, it was suggested that the WR should run the train on the same route till it makes it journey on the Indore-Baroda route.
It was also suggested that the Double Decker should bypass stations like Maxi, Sehore and Bairagarh to save time.
