Indore : Citing gross discrepancies, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has issued show-cause notices to five colleges willing to offer Bachelor of Education (BEd) programme.

The colleges that have been issued notices are: Shri Umiya Kanya Mahavidyalaya (Rau), RKDF College of Education (Indore), IPS Academy (Indore), IPS Academy (Jhabua), both run by Indo Education and Services Society and IPS Academy (Sanver) run by Captain Kartar Singh Education Society.

In a recent meeting, the Western Region Committee of NCTE observed that the above-mentioned colleges are marred by gross shortcomings. In case of Umiya Kanya college, the WRC observed that State government has given negative recommendations in its case while it lacks no objection certificate from the affiliating body. The WRC also stated that the college did not submit original certified copies of the land documents and notarized copies of building plan, building completion certificate, CLU and non-encumbrance certificate.

In case of IPS Academy in Indore and Jhabua, the WRC observed that the colleges not only lack NOC from affiliating body but they also did not get positive recommendations from the state government for functioning. Besides, the WRC said that the colleges did not submit original certified copies of the land documents and notarized copies of building plan, building completion certificate, CLU and non-encumbrance certificate. In addition to this, the WRC noted that the institution has applied for stand alone course which is not permitted as per NCTE Regulations, 2014.

The identical shortcomings were pointed out in the case of IPS Academy (Sanver). In case of RKDF College of Education, the WRC stated that the college was told previously told to submit original notarized copies of two documents viz order dated 4-4-2009 issued by the Tehsildar, Indore and the original notarized letter dated 10-4-2008 from the Registrar, Firms and Societies but it has not submitted the original notarized copy of the order by the Tehsildar.

Apart from this, the WRC also returned application of two colleges wishing to offer DElEd course stating that they are not eligible to apply for the course.

Sardar Patel School of Education in Barwani and Aacharya Shriram College Barwaha in Khargone had applied for starting DElEd course.

While returning their applications, the WRC stated that as per public notice dated 27-02-2015 applications were not invited for the course from MP expect from 20 districts which were listed in the notification. Since Barwani and Khargone were not among the 20 districts hence their applications were returned.
