Indore: The work of reconstructing the Bhangar Bridge on Kabitkhedi road will start after the monsoon, said IMC officials. The bridge has been declared rickety and it is slowly crumbling day by day.
Additional commissioner Abhay Rajangaonkar said that the IMC has put up boards at both the ends of the bridge informing the public about the poor condition of the bridge.
“We have also prohibited the entry of heavy vehicles on the bridge and are diverting them”, said Rajangaonkar.
The IMC warning board states, “This bridge is under critical condition. The entry of heavy vehicles is prohibited. Other vehicles should move with caution.” At present, hundreds of small vehicles pass through the bridge every day, which is very dangerous. The IMC however, says that the bridge is still safe for smaller vehicles.
“The reconstruction of the bridge will be done after monsoon as work is not possible now. Also breaking the bridge will cause inconvenience to the people,” said Rajangaonkar.
