A student who received 40 marks in BEd second semester exams obtained zero in sample review of answer books. “There was another student who wrote questions asked in the exam on his answer sheet and he was given marks for that. He did not write answers,” said an insider in the DAVV. These are some of irregularities that have come to fore when the DAVV conducted sample review of answer books of BEd second semester exams after finding pass percentage to be 96.
“The results were withheld and sample review of answer books were conducted. We did not allow any wrong to happen,” said vice chancellor Dr Narendra Dhakad. As per information, malpractice in five out of seven subjects was found in the sample review. Now, the university is getting answer books of all these five subjects evaluated again.
Exam controller’s resignation rejected
Vice chancellor Dr Narendra Dhakad rejected the exam controller Ashesh Tiwari’s resignation saying that his services are required. “I don’t doubt his honesty. We need him as exam controller so his resignation was rejected,” said Dhakad. Tiwari was not in favour of review of results. So, when his advised was overlooked he put in papers. However, he took back his resignation when VC stated that he was an asset to the DAVV. Tiwari confirmed that he had withdrawn his resignation letter on directives of VC.
No DAVV employee indulged in racket: VC
While many suspected the roles of university employees in the BEd exam racket, Dhakad stood strongly with them saying that none of them indulged in any wrong doing. “I know my employees better than anybody else. I got investigation done at my level. None of them were found involved in any malpractice,” Dhakad told reporters. He stated that malpractice was done at centres in Gwalior and Bhopal. “We won’t send answer books to those centres for evaluation in future,” he added.
