Alirajpur (Madhya Pradesh): Local MLA Mukesh Patel has said that free ration allotted by government during pandemic is not being given to the poor. He said responsible people have turned this disaster into an opportunity to exploit the poor tribal people.

“There are irregularities in the government ration shops in the district but administration is mum,” said Patel who paid a surprise visit to a fair price shop in Sakdi village on Saturday.

On inquiry, he came to know that a beneficiary got 8 kg less ration, another got 10 kg less ration. Many beneficiaries received less ration. There was no stock register, distribution register.

“The government is sending prescribed quantity of ration according to every family in the district. So, who is working against intention of government and why no action is taken against those people? What action has been taken to provide ration to the families who did not receive it?” Patel said.

MLA said he will stage sit-in if the prescribed quantity of ration is not provided to all the beneficiary families in the district.
