Indore : After making its exams computer-based, the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) has now made departmental promotion process also online.
The MPPSC has started constituting Departmental Promotion Committees (DPCs) online and released the list of six promotions done with the new system.
The new system will not allow any alterations to the DPC and curb malpractices effectively while deciding the promotions.
For making the promotion process online, a new application has been developed with help from National Informatics Center (NIC) and the first six DPCs for two departments were done online and gradually the system will be applied to all the 39 departments of the government.
According to the officials of State Public Service Commission, the designing of system was going on for the last two years and six DPCs were pilot projects which were successful.
Following the success of the system, records of 29000 state government employees have been made online for the DPC use. The data was also being prepared since the last one year simultaneously and has now been uploaded on server.
Under the new system, promotions from assistant director to deputy director, field officer to assistant director and joint directors from deputy directors for Silk Directorate and joint director to additional directors, assistant directors to deputy directors and joint directors from deputy directors in Finance Department were decided.
Under the system, the note is sent to state PSC from department concerned online and is accepted by the computer if full details such as inquiries if any pending, CR pending court cases, etc.
