Indore : Registration for CAT- 2014 on the additional day window was 7,100, with a total of 1.97 lakh applicants for the entrance test of the premier management institute, a rise of 4,000 from a year earlier.
The last day for submitting applications for CAT- 2014 had expired on September 30 midnight but the IIMIndore announced to reopen a window for one extra day on October 10.
Earlier, when the registration for CAT- 2014 had closed on September 30, registration was 1,89,796 and it was described as an all- time low. However, due to technical glitches on the last day of registration, many IIM aspirants were not able to register for CAT, and they sent mails to IIM Indore requesting them to reopen the registration window.
T he requests were heeded and the announcement to reopen the window for one more day was made. Dr Rohit Kapoor had said, “ We have been given to understand that few candidates faced difficulties during the last day of submission of CAT 2014 application — on September 30, owing to failures in internet connection and net banking transactions, amongst others. Based on the emails received from the affected candidates, we are opening the window for one day to apply and complete the registration and/ or application.” No glitches on Oct 10 Thousands of candidates, who could not apply by September 30, were waiting to register for CAT- 2014 on October 10, and they logged on the website in the early hours when the window reopened at 00: 00. Apprehensive that CAT- 2014 registration site might face some technical problems candidates were keen to register as early as possible.
According to IIM Indore, most of the registrations were received in early hours. Kapoor said that the candidates did not face any technical problems in the process of CAT- 2014 registration on October 10.
