Indore : Manpur police arrested two persons in connection with death of a girl, whose body was found in the fields near village Bicholi located on Indore-Mumbai 4-lane highway last month.
It may be recalled that the body was found on June 23. At the time of recovery of the body, SP (West) D Kalyan Chakarawarti, ASO Arvind Tiwari, SDOP Mhow, Arun Mishra and the then TI Manpur-Fatehbahadur Singh along with forensic expert Dr Sudhir Sharma were present at the spot.
After examining the body, Dr Sharma opined that the girl had died of strangulation by way of hanging and her body was dumped here. Later, the autopsy report also confirmed Dr Sharma’s initial report and the Manpur police registered a case and started investigating the matter.
During investigation, the police were informed that one Heena, a resident of Pawan Nagar, Pithampur had been missing. Heena’s family was contacted at village Khamariya in Balaghat district and her father Jiyalal Patel identified the body as that of Heena alias Seema.
After further investigation, the police registered cases of harassment and abetment of suicide and attempt to suppress evidence against Amit Yadav (29) a resident of village Gwari of district Dhar and Ghanshyam Soni (23) of Bardari in Dhar district and arrested them. The police also seized the motorcycle used in the crime.
During questioning, the accused told the police that Heena had come from Balaghat about eight months ago and was working at Hero showroom owned by Dhirendra Raghuvanshi.
During her employment, she met with Amit and the two became intimate. Amit was employed with Tirupati Balaji and also operated an electrical shop in Bardari. He was married and kept Heena in dark about his marital status.
On June 22, Sanjay, Santosh and Chotu, all residents of Heena’s native place, came to meet Heena. Due to lateness of night, Heena made arrangements for their stay with her acquaintance Rajesh Dunge, a resident of Patel Nagar, Pithampur.
On the same night, Amit had an argument with Heena in respect of her visitors and Amit alleged infidelity on part of Heena and mentally tortured her. This depressed Heena and she committed suicide around 2:30 am by hanging herself.
When Amit discovered Heena’s body, he got scared. He enlisted help of his friend Ghanshyam and together they took Heena’s body on the motorcycle and dumped it near village Bicholi. They also destroyed all documentary evidence and vacated the room.
DIG Santosh Kumar Singh lauded the effort of police and announced cash reward for the entire teamfor the good work.
