Indore : A panic-like situation was created at the Devi Ahilyabai Airport here on Wednesday, when 9 bullets of .30mm caliber were recovered from Delhi-bound Air India passenger.
However, passenger was allowed to move when he fetched the license for the arms from his home. In the meantime the flight took-off without the passenger.
Rudra Pratap Singh Chouhan of Ravi Nagar, Khajarana, along with his sister reached airport to catch the Delhi-bound flight of Air India AIC-635 scheduled to depart at 7.50am.
When Rudra reached to security hold area for scanning of the hand bag Sub-Inspector Lakhiram Bairwa found 9 live bullets of .30mm caliber in his handbag.
Incidentally, Chief Airport Security Officer (CASO) Harendra Narayan was also present close to the X-ray machine.
Chouhan was taken to a roon and interrogated by CISF sleuths for 30 minutes.
Sources said that during the interrogation Chouhan informed the officials that he was carrying the bullets by mistake.
He had gone to Bhopal day before yesterday with pistol and bullets and returned yesterday night. He kept away the pistol from the bag, but forgot to remove the bullets.
Chouhan, a builder and industrialist, asked his son Manish to bring his gun license from home. He accepted his mistake and also produced an authority letter before CISF sleuths.
Sources said that the license with no. 5588 pistol mouser.30 mm caliber was issued from District Collector Indore dated on February 2, 2003.
However, during the interrogation the AI flight took-off without Chouhan, but his sister succeeded in leaving for New Delhi by the flight. After completing the formalities, Chouhan was allowed to move.
It may be recalled that a few months ago, Baba Ram Rahim of Dera Sachha Souda was also stuck at the airport in a similar case. His guards were carrying AK-47 rifle and bullets without movement order.
