Indore : Barely 24 hours after a petrol bomb was hurled at a Madhumilan Square-based fuel station, City police on Monday arrested three persons for the attack that caused minor injuries to a biker. Police said that the accused had thrown the petrol bomb with the intention to set afire the petrol pump and not for injuring the biker.
Addressing a press conference, Additional Superintendent of Police (East Zone-II) Bittu Sehgal said that the accused admitted their crime and said that they wanted to exact revenge from a fuel vendor whith whom they had picked up a fight earlier during the day.
Ganesh Umaf (22), Monu Kandare (26), both residents of Gandhi Nagar, and Kishanrao Sikre (18) of Kasrawad were seen by the biker, Ratnesh Chouhan of Moti Tabela he said adding CCTVs installed at the pump also caught them in the act. “The accused were arrested on the basis of their motorcycle registration tag,” Sehgal said.
Following the dispute with the vendor, the accused took out petrol from their bike and prepared the petrol bomb. Ganesh and Monu had prior criminal records. The latter was externed from limits of Indore division.
