Kolkata: Former Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) Mayor Sovan Chatterjee got an eviction letter from his brother-in-law.

In the letter, Sovan’s brother-in-law Subhasish Das said that if the flat in South Kolkata is not vacated within seven days then they might take legal action against Sovan Chatterjee.

Reacting to the letter, Sovan said that he had all legal documents to suffice the claim that the flat where he stays is his own.

Incidentally, Sovan on Wednesday transferred all his tangible and intangible property to his close-aide Baisakhi Banerjee.

After Baisakhi Banerjee changed her Facebook profile’s name and also hinted towards their ‘togetherness’ in a post, the former KMC Mayor claimed that since Baisakhi had helped him during his crisis he had made Baisakhi given power of attorney of his property.

“Sovan has a big heart and just because I have supported him during his crisis he gave me the property. Sovan cannot manage his social media account so I have shared my account with him. It is just like joint bank account,” mentioned Baisakhi.

Sovan’s father-in law and TMC MLA Dulal Das stated that along with property Baisakhi had also taken away the surname of Sovan.

Slamming the two, TMC Spokesperson Kunal Ghosh also took a jibe at him on Twitter.
