Amidst the rising temperature, the annoyance showed by former CM Vasundhara Raje on drinking water crisis in Rajasthan has worked as CM Bhajan Lal Sharma called the officials the very next day and reviewed the demand and availability of drinking water in the state.

“The temperature is rising and any negligence regarding supply of drinking water would result in strict action against the officer responsible for that” warned CM Bhajan Lal Sharma in the meeting and asked the officials to provide the adequate drinking water as per the increased demand.

CM Sharma said that all the District Collectors ensure drinking water management under their supervision as per the contingency plan and the field officers and employees of the water supplies department would not leave the headquarters without competent permission.

He directed the department to clear all the hurdles regards water supplies until May 15.

"All the works of strengthening drinking water supply including installation and repair of new hand pumps, tube wells, repair of pipelines should be completed before May 15th. At any cost. An untied fund of Rs one crore each has been made available to all the District Collectors to resolve the drinking water crisis,"said CM.

Notably, the scorching heat is boiling the desert state for the last one week as the maximum temperatures have reached above 40 degree Celsius in most parts. This early onset of hot weather has increased the demand of water manyfold.

Amid this, two - time CM of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje had publicly expressed her annoyance over the water crisis in constituency Jhalawar a couple of days ago as, people complained to her about the water woos in the area during her visit to the constituency.

“Doesn't the public feel thirsty? Only you officers feel thirsty. The public is troubled due to the drinking water crisis in summer. Water should reach the people, not on paper. The officers are sleeping, the people are crying. I will not let this happen,” Raje had posted on her social media platform X.
