Thirty-six new ministers joined the government and four high-profile ministers--Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Ravi Shankar Prasad and Prakash Javadekar--quit on Wednesday in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mega Cabinet reboot.
Ministers of state G Kishan Reddy, Parshottam Rupala, Anurag Thakur, Hardeep Singh Puri, Mansukh Mandaviya, RK Singh and Kiren Rijiju, were elevated as Cabinet ministers while 36 new inductees were sworn in.
Meanwhile, the new Cabinet has four ministers from Northeast India. Kiren Rijiju who earlier was Minister of State (Independent Charge) Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has been elevated to Minister of Law and Justice.
Sarbananda Sonowal, Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh and Pratima Bhoumik are the new faces from Northeast India who have been chosen in PM Modi's newlook cabinet.

Sarbananda Sonowal (Assam): He is a 2-time Lok Sabha MP from Assam. He has been made the Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways and Minister of AYUSH. Having been a 2-time MLA, he served as Assam’s Chief Minister from 2016-21. He has earlier served as Union Minister of State (Independent charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship; and Sports and Youth Affairs under PM Narendra Modi. Starting in student politics, he has been in public life for 3 decades. He has an LLB from Guwahati University.
Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh (Manipur): Rajkumar Ranjan Singh is a Lok Sabha MP for Inner Manipur in Manipur, serving his 1st term as MP. Prior to his political career, he had a 4 decade long career as an Geography Professor, ending as Director of College Development Council in Manipur University. He has a MA and PhD in Geography from Gauhati University. He has been appointed the Minister of State in the Ministry of External Affairs; and Minister of State in the Ministry of Education.
Pratima Bhoumik (52): She is a Lok Sabha MP for Tripura West in Tripura, serving her 1 st term as MP. She comes from a humble background, practices farming. She holds a Graduate degree in Bio-Science from Women's College, Tripura University. She has been given the Minister of State in the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
