New Delhi: The Robert Vadra case is throwing up some surprises. India Today newsmagazine has accessed the original registry documents of the Bryanston Square flat in London, which the Enforcement Directorate has claimed belongs to Robert Vadra. The documents show that the flat is actually in a British couple’s name and not that of Vadra.

Incidentally, the ED has information about various new properties in London which it claims also belong to Vadra. Keeping the heat on, Rahul Gandhi’s brother-in-law was questioned by the agency for the second day on Thursday — for over six hours. He has been summoned to again appear before the ED on Friday (February 8) at 10.30 am. Vadra’s lawyer KTS Tulsi told reporters outside the ED office on Thursday his client has not committed any wrong doing.

However, the BJP cited nine emails that the party alleged were exchanged between Vadra and Sumit Chadha, a relative of arms dealer Sanjay Bhandari, regarding properties in London.  “The first email has been sent by Sumit Chadha, who is relative of arms dealer Sanjay Bhandari. He has sent it to Robert Vadra only… What tiles should be used in kitchen? How would the bathroom look? All of it is in this email,” Patra said.

On Thursday, Priyanka Vadra attended her first official meet as the party general secretary. According to sources, Priyanka said at this meeting she is in the game for a long haul and not just for one election. She then went back to the ED office to pick up Robert after his grilling session got over for the day.

Next week, she will be in Lucknow for a four-day visit, her first trip to UP after being given the charge of eastern UP. Congress president Rahul Gandhi and general secretary in charge of western Uttar Pradesh, Jyotiraditya Scindia, will accompany her on the February 11 visit to the state capital, party spokesperson Anshu Awasthi said on Thursday. The Lucknow visit will mark her first public appearance after formally joining the party.
