Palghar (Maharashtra): An 18-year-old youth allegedly killed his father after the latter refused to give him money to buy liquor at a village here, police said today. The accused, Kiran Vinayak Pawar, a resident of Jamsar village in Jawhar taluka of Palghar district, was arrested late last night following a complaint by the victim’s wife. Kiran was a habitual drinker and used to often demand money from his parents for liquor which led to frequent quarrels between them, assistant police inspector Ramesh Budhar said. At around 2.30 PM yesterday, Kiran again demanded money from his parents. He also asked them to get him married. The parents, who were already in a disturbed state because of his habits, did not respond to his demands, he said. The annoyed youth then kicked his father Vinayak Pawar in the abdomen and chest, killing him on the spot, he said. Based on a complaint by the victim’s wife Rakhminbai, an offence was registered under section 302 (murder) of the IPC.
