PATNA: Attacking the Lalu Prasad Yadav family without taking their names,Prime Minister Narendra Modi made an emotional appeal to the electorate to vote for the BJP led government at the Centre. Addressing a massive rally at Paliganj, 55 km from here, his last election meeting in Bihar, Modi promised and hoped that he would come again after taking over as the Prime Minister again.

Modi focused on the caste politics in Bihar and attacked the RJD family without taking the names of their leaders. As Patna Saheb has a large number of Sikh voters, he recalled the horrors of 1984 riots and said the Congress did not regret for the massacres, but its leader (Sam Pitroda) described it as a minor incident “Hua to Hua”. Union law minister, Ravishankar Prasad is BJP candidate pitted against the Congress’s Shatrughan Sinha.

In last two days, Modi addressed three election rallies in Bihar for the seventh and final phase in which eight constituencies in central Bihar would go to polls on May 19. Modi stated that national security was not an issue for the opposition in the elections as they practiced politics of betrayal and corruption.

Modi’s rally at Paliganj that predominantly has backward castes, Yadavs, and upper caste Bhumihars was held to attract Yadav voters from the RJD’s Misa Bharti, daughter of RJD president Lalu Prasad. Ramkripal Yadav, union minister is BJP nominee who had defeated Misa in 2014.

Prime Minister in an obvious reference to Lalu Prasad said, “The mahabhrast (top corrupt) family of Bihar, amassed thousands of crores worth property, have huge bungalows like the Congress family. They exploited the poor to their selfish ends.”

Modi alleged that politics in the name of a particular caste was played in Bihar. It benefited one family only and not the common man of the caste. Benefits reached only a particular family. The talented leaders of the same caste were denied their due and members of the family got all benefits of political power.

He praised the talents of Bihar and said that the youths from the state were excelling as IAS, IPS officers and in other services all over the country. Even the poor among the talented youths of Bihar were using wifi at railway stations to prepare themselves for the examinations of the UPSC as they could not afford costly coaching institutes of Delhi.

He praised Ravishankar Prasad for providing free IT facilities on the railway stations in the villages for the benefit of the youths. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, LJP pesident Ramvilas Paswan, Bihar BJP president Nityanand Rai also spoke on the occasion.
