Narsinghpur (MP): Punjab minister Navjot Singh Sidhu on Monday launched into a tirade against PM Navjot Singh Sidhusaying if he became the Prime MinisNavjot Singh Sidhuter again then India would be destroyed. “There is no employment, youth and farmers have lost the ground and if Modi becomes the PM again then ‘Hindustan’ will be destroyed,” said the cricketer-turned-politician.

BJP in response attacked Navjot Singh Sidhu for his “one wrong vote can make your children ‘chaiwala’ or ‘chowkidar'” remark, saying the Punjab minister has insulted the hardworking, common people of the country.

The Congress party looks down on the people who sell tea, pakoras and those who work as ‘chowkidars’, BJP national spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao said and asked why Congress was insulting the people “who work really hard to keep their families afloat”.

“People who are self-made, who are entrepreneurs in their own lives and people who work in small enterprisers to make their livelihoods meet, the Congress party apparently has no respect for them,” Rao told reporters during a press briefing at the BJP office.

Also, commenting on Samajwadi Party fielding a BSF constable Tej Bahadur Yadav from the Varanasi seat against PM Modi, Navjot Singh Sidhu accused him of raising “nationalism” pitch to deflect people’s attention from real issues. Sidhu said that Modi, “who is seeking votes in the name of armed forces”, will now face a “fauzi” in the constituency.

“The BJP was seeking votes in the name of Modi and Modi in turn is asking for ballots in the name of Fauz..Now a Fauzi in Varanasi is seeking votes against Modi,” the Punjab minister said, adding that people have now understood Modi and his acts. “…People know that you are diverting their attention from real issues,” the former BJP leader said.
