The BJP has added another word to its purple prose. Hours after India was able to convince the UAE to extradite Deepak Talwar in the Westland chopper case, the BJP claimed it was a Batman moment for the country. In a tweet haling Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his expeditious action against wanted criminals and fugitives, the BJP said the last time such swiftness was seen was in the Hollywood super hit Batman.

“Last time we saw such swift extradition, it was Batman extraditing Lau from Hong Kong and delivering him to Jim Gordon,” the BJP tweeted from its Twitter handle. The tweet was a take-off on a scene from the movie ‘The Dark Knight’, in which Batman (played by Christian Bale) flies to Hong Kong, to ferry back a corrupt accountant.

After an ingenious action sequence, which shows the accountant swinging from Bruce Wayne’s plane, Batman delivers the gift-wrapped fugitive to Commissioner Jim Gordon. Eulogising PM Modi, the BJP cited another Batman one-liner and said: “Everything is impossible until somebody does it.” “This time it’s PM Narendra Modi.”
