Jaipur : A woman allegedly murdered her four-month-old daughter by slitting her throat as she wanted a male child. Then, she raised an alarm that her baby girl was missing, sending the household of 13 members in Jaipur into a tizzy.
Hours later, the baby was found inside an unused air-conditioner, motionless and covered in a blanket. The baby’s throat had been slit with a kitchen knife. The tiny body also had 17 stab wounds.
Investigation revealed that no outsider had entered the house when the girl was murdered. The police interrogated Neha Goyal, 35, and found traces of blood in her nails, following which she was arrested and confessed to the crime. She admitted that she was desperate for a son and had considered both IVF and surrogacy, which were affordable options in the wealthy family of merchants. Later, she even helped the police recover the crime weapon – a knife.
Neha’s husband told the police he was shocked and had no idea that his wife could commit such an act.
