New Delhi: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Saturday issued a clarification over a viral video in which passengers could be seen jumping over automatic fare collection (AFC ) gates to exit. The DMRC said that the incident, which took place on February 13, was a "momentary reaction" of some passengers and occurred due to “a temporary surge" of commuters.
"About a viral video circulating on social media regarding some passengers jumping over AFC gates to exit, DMRC would like to inform that said incident is reported from Jama Masjid Metro station on Magenta Line on the evening of 13th February 2025," the DMRC said in a statement.
