Kolkata: The row between the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over TMC MP Mahua Moitra’s comment on Goddess Kali continued even on Monday. After holding an organizational meeting in Dumurjala in Howrah district, Union Minister for Women and Child Welfare Smriti Irani visited Ram Mandir and said that it is not ‘impossible’ for TMC MP to ‘insult’ Ma Kali and also claimed that several TMC leaders have ‘insulted’ Hindu gods and goddesses in the past.

“Those who are insulting Hinduism, TMC supremo and the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee should have dismissed them from their post or party. TMC leadership had in the past several times insulted Hindu gods and goddesses. I feel proud to visit Ram temple here in Howrah,” said Smriti Irani.

Meanwhile, demanding ‘arrest’ of TMC MP Mahua Moitra, Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari held a rally in Krishnanagar in Nadia district and said, "Kali Matar Apaman Maanbe na Hindustan (Hindustan won’t tolerate insult to Goddess Kali)."

“Hinduism doesn’t teach to insult others religion but it is not possible to tolerate constant insult to Hinduism. Every time “roshogolla’ cannot be served against an insult. There is a limit to everything. Everyone before speaking about their specific sect should say that they are Hindus and Indians. The day when everyone says this then forming of nationalistic government is just a matter of time,” said Adhikari.

Without naming Trinamool Congress, Adhikari said that as a part of Central Government’s ‘Azaadi ki Amrit Mahotsav’, BJP will visit Tarakeswar during Shravan month and will also conduct Trianga Yatra on August 14 with national flag.

“We will protest against the anti-national force and killings of Kashmir Pandit during our Tiranga Yatra on August 14. We should all fight back together against the anti-national forces,” further added LoP.

Slamming Mahua Moitra, LoP alleged that due to ‘appeasement’ politics Mahua had won Krishnanagar Lok Sabha seat in 2019 election and also that he will move the court if TMC doesn’t take ‘action’ against Mahua within 10 days.

Adhikari also indirectly urged ISKCON for not calling Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee during Lord Jagannath’s Rath Yatra and stated that Mamata finds the chant of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ as ‘abuse’.

It can be noted that a special Kali Puja was organized in Krishnanagar today where the BJP leadership offered prayers.
