Parrikar Meets French Defence Minister
New Delhi: Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar met his French counterpart Jean Yves Le Drian, on Tuesday as a major defence deal involving the procurement of French Rafale fighter jets awaits approval. The two ministers held delegation-level talks, amid reports that the deal for 126 multi-role combat aircraft from the French aerospace major Dassault Aviation is in trouble facing delay for nearly three years and is facing fresh questions over pricing.
8 Hurt In Blast At Cracker Factory In MP
Jabalpur: Eight people were injured, two of them critically, in a blast at a fire cracker manufacturing unit in Churia village near here on Tuesday. The roof and two walls of Maa Narmada Fire Works Factory were blown away in the blast. Of the eight factory workers injured in the incident, the condition of Sheela Patel and Suman admitted to Government Medial College and Hospital is stated to be critical.
7 Killed In Nagaland Guns Shop Blast
Kohima: Seven people were killed and 20 others injured in a fire which broke out after a bomb blast at a gun shop in Wokha town of Nagaland on Tuesday. The blast occurred around 11.30 am from a gun shop while the fire turned ravaging with the blast of gas cylinders. Seven persons, including a four-month-old girl, a 5-year-old boy, two women and three men were charred to death while 20 others were injured.
Maoists Blow Up CRPF Vehicle; 1 Dead
Gaya (Bihar): One CRPF jawan was killed and 13 others were injured when Maoists blew up a mini-bus carrying them in Gaya district on Tuesday. The militants had planted a landmine on the route and it exploded when the mini-bus came over it. Additional forces have been rushed to the area.
Registration Process For E-Rickshaws
New Delhi: After months of uncertainty, the plying of e-rickshaws is set to become official with the Delhi government starting the process of licensing and registration through facilitation camps. A total of 4,113 applicants have been registered and 2,439 learning licences have been issued till Tuesday in the facilitation camps of e-rickshaws.
Nitish Reshuffles Administrative Setup
Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday reshuffled the administrative setup bringing his trusted officials back to key posts who were shunted by Jitan Ram Manjhi. According to a notification issued by the General Administration department, 27 IAS officers have been transferred. Manjhi had shifted many officers who enjoyed Nitish’s confidence, precipitating the tussle between the two.
