NEW DELHI: The national capital has fallen in the lap of the BJP. According to India Today-Axis exit poll, the BJP is likely to win 6-7 seats, the Congress a measly one and the Aam Aadmi Party will draw a blank.
Ahead of the polls, there was a grim forecast for the BJP especially on account of recent sealing of illegal commercial spaces and constant bickering with the AAP state government. Delhi had been a stronghold of the Congress and the party ruled the state for 15 years at stretch before suffering a humiliating defeat at the hands of AAP in 2015.
Some of the key candidates in Delhi are Gautam Gambhir, Sheila Dikshit, Atishi, Raghav Chadha and Manoj Tiwari. The national capital is not just the seat of the Central government but is also a mini India. The political temperature in Delhi has been rising ever since the BJP and AAP governments began colliding with each other.
