As elections are around the corner, the Bhartiya Janata Party is trying its best to win hearts again and today at 11 am, they announced their manifesto. BJP penned down 75 pointers for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections and titled it ‘75 Milestones for India @75’, also aiming at the 75th year of Indian Independence in 2022.
In the 48 pages long manifesto of 2019, topics like Agriculture, Youth, Women, Culture, Economy and Health have been constant just like the previous manifesto, however, foreign relations is not the prime focus this time, compared to the 2014 manifesto. In the 2014 manifesto of BJP, an event named Amrit Mohatsav of 2022 was mentioned in order to celebrate the 75th year of Independence. Similarly focusing on the 75th year of Independence, the 2019 Sankalp Patra too plans to launch new campaigns under the Gram Swaraj which is named, ‘On the Path of Gram Swaraj.’ According to the BJP, Gram Swaraj is one of the principal pillars of Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of India. PM Narendra Modi has also promised a few things during the announcement of 2019 Sankalp Patra which includes scrapping the Jammu & Kashmir special status and ensuring a safe return of the Kashmiri pandits. GST is also said to be simplified along with rebuilding the Ram Mandir and enacting a law against the triple talaq which seems quite a task. Special plans on railways development such as conversion of all viable rail tracks to broad gauge by 2022, completing the dedicated freight corridor project and electrification of all railway tracks by 2022 was also mentioned.
