Kolkata: Amid clarion call by Trinamool Congress (TMC) Supremo Mamata Banerjee to clean the fake voters, West Bengal Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leadership on Tuesday claimed that ‘Trinamool Congress government in West Bengal is removing Hindu names from the voter list while adding Bangladeshi and Rohingya voters, particularly in bordering areas’.
BJP state president and MOS Sukanta Majumdar said, “Failed CM @MamataOfficial's politics of appeasement has reached dangerous levels. Hindus are being selectively removed from West Bengal’s voter list while Bangladeshi infiltrators are being rewarded with voting rights! Evidence of this grave conspiracy was handed over to Hon. HM Shri @AmitShahJi yesterday. @AITCofficial’s dream of turning Bengal into #GreaterBangladesh is no longer a secret. Shahidul Biswas, a resident of Jessore, Bangladesh, is on the voter list of Bagda Assembly. And it’s not just one Shahidul—lakhs of infiltrators have been added, ensuring a slow demographic takeover.” (Sic)

Notably, on Monday, Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari also warned that if this alleged malpractice is not stopped then the saffron camp will inform the same to the election commission.
Adhikari also asked for removal of Krishnanagar block 2’s BDO.
“On blank paper, complaints were filed against 98 voters who came from Bangladesh and settled here, alleging they were not residents. I am requesting these voters not to respond to any such query. According to the rule the onus of proving whether the voter is a resident is on the complainant,” Adhikari was heard stating.
BJP leader and West Bengal co-incharge Amit Malviya said, “The Trinamool government in West Bengal is removing Hindu names from the voter list while adding Bangladeshi and Rohingya voters, particularly in border areas. In Nadia, a BJP stronghold, for instance, after receiving a request from Abdul Rahman Sheikh, the Block Development Officer (BDO) acted on the same day to begin the process of removing 98 Hindu names from the electoral rolls.” (Sic)
