Ayodhya: Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple is in critical condition after being reported to have been experiencing a brain haemorrhage. Das was initially referred to to Ayodhya City Neuro Care Hospital, reported IANS. However, he was later transferred to Lucknow PGI for advanced treatment.
"The condition of Satyendra Das is critical. A CT scan revealed that he had suffered a brain haemorrhage and it was spread in several parts of the brain," Arun Kumar Singh, a doctor at the Neuro Centre, Ayodhya City, said as reported by Telangana Today. The doctor further added that the Ram Mandir's head priest referred him to Lucknow PGI for better treatment.
Das's condition is now reported to be stable. He was appointed as the chief priest of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya from the beginning of the construction of the temple.
“Acharya Satyendra Das, the head priest of Ayodhya’s Shri Ram temple, has been admitted in a private room in the Neurology Ward of SGPGI under the supervision of Dr. Prakash Chandra Pandey,” Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI) Director RK Dhiman said as quoted by Telangana Today.
Das is a resident of Ayodhya.
