Saeed Inamdar

IES Management College and Research Centre

Once I was shortlisted by my college to apply for this scholarship, I worked towards the interview and prepared the finance subjects. During my interview, they checked all my documents and then asked the questions. Yes, I was nervous, just like a person is bound to be nervous for any interview, like I am nervous even now, while you are interviewing me. I have completed my electrical engineering from Shivaji University before joining MBA, and now I find that finance is my field, because I enjoy working in finance. I’m also pursuing the CFA course and I’ll use the money for that.

Pooja Sharma

ITM Business School

Since the announcement in my college mentioned that those with good grades should apply for this scholarship, I went ahead and did it. I really had no hopes, since there were so many students, and I was sure that each applicant would have excelled in some manner, so the competition would be tough. At the interview stage, they were trying to determine how well we would use this amount and whether we care for it. The first person I informed of winning was my mother, because she has always pushed me for being independent. After my MBA, I want to start an NGO.

Jagdish Rathod

SIES College of Management Studies

I applied for the scholarship after the dean of my institute informed us about it. I wasn’t worried much about the interview since the questions on finance would be from the regular academic curriculum, so I thought I would be able to handle the interview well. Also, I have worked with Mahanagar Gas for about one year after I completed my mechanical engineering from Mumbai University, so that work experience boosted my confidence. I was a little anxious about what the outcome will be. I want to work in equity research after finishing my MBA and I’m saving this money to pursue my CFA.

Sudarshan Parab

Oriental Institute of Management

My teacher called me and asked me to apply for this scholarship, and after that I did study a little bit for the interview. Otherwise also I was confident since finance is my favourite subject, ever since my BCom days. I read a lot on the subject and try to understand as much as I can about it. When I read the email that informed me of winning the scholarship, I was at home and I rushed to inform my parents. I want to work in the banking sector after graduation and I’ll use the money for educational expenses.

Sonia Sachdev

C. K. Shah Vijapurwala Institute of Management

When I was interviewed, I could answer easily because of my bachelor’s degree in business administration. I haven’t decided which field I want to work in later, but my MBA is in international business, so I will be looking at that sector. I hadn’t checked my mail in three days, so I was not aware that I have won this scholarship. My institute that put it on Facebook, and when a friend congratulated me, I checked. I was happy, and told my husband and parents immediately. I am proud that with my name they have started the ‘Best Student Award’ which provides me with extra motivation to work harder in future. It is a proud moment for me and my family.
