If you look at Zoya Akhtar’s films, you would realize most of them were about travelling and discovering yourself. Here she reveals her love for travelling and also tells us why she chose a ship for ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’.
“I love travelling myself. This film is not about the journey. It’s about relationships. It’s a family film, it’s a family drama. We wanted a device to show a gathering of the whole family. A certain link to show the whole family had come together for something. It’s Mr. and Mrs. Mehra’s 30th marriage anniversary. My co-writer, Reema Kagti were just brain storming for ideas… we were looking for a device. A hotel room, a farm house or a holiday home. Then we thought of a ship. It’s pretty new and hasn’t been used. We cannot show the ship on Juhu Beach so we had to go all the way to Turkey!”
