Famous Bollywood actress Bhagya Shree will play the role of Sita while Shahbaz Khan will become Ravan in the Ramleela to be staged in Ayodhya from October 6 this year.
The role of Parshuram will be enacted by the famous Bhojpuri star and Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) MP Ravi Kishan .Besides this, several other cine stars such as Shakti Kapoor, Raza Murad, Bindu Dara Singh, Asrani, Awtar Gill, Ritu Shivpuri and Raj Mathur could be part of Ramleela that will be staged lavishly at Ayodhya this October.
According to the chairman of Ayodhya Ramleela Committee, Subhash Malik Bobby, Shakti Kapoor has agreed to play the role of Ahiravan while Bindu Dara Singh of Hanuman. The well-known comedian Asrani will be seen playing the role of Narad Muni while Raza Murad will enact the role of Kumbhkaran this year. Famous television serial actress Ritu Shivpuri will play the part of Mata Kaushalya and Amita Nangia will act as Kaikayee.
The committee has yet not decided as to who will be picked for the role of Lord Ram and Laxman. The search is on for these prominent characters and many stars have intended to take the assignment, Subhash Malik Bobby added
The committee chairman also said that few other Bollywood stars could be part of Ramleela this year. The ten days show of Ramleela at Ayodhya will commence on October 6 this year. He said that this would be the biggest Ramleela in the world. It may be mentioned that such an exercise in Ayodhya was started last year when few famous film stars were engaged in it.
Malik said that Ayodhya Sodh Sansthanm chief minister Yogi Adityanath and state culture minister Neelkanth Tiwari have extended their full support for Ramleela. According to state government officials, the Ramleela in Ayodhya is staged every year but for the last two years, a lot of glamour has been added to it.
It may be mentioned that UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has developed a Ram Katha Park in Ayodhya recently, where this year's show will be staged. Besides that, the state-run Ayodhya Shodh Sansthan has been staging Ramleela live for devotees throughout the year.
To attract overseas viewers the entire program will be broadcasted on YouTube.The show was displayed on various digital platforms last year as well. According to the committee chairman if the pandemic situation improves then the audience will be allowed at the park where the event will be staged otherwise they can watch it on the internet.
