After playing a Pakistani military soldier in Raazi, Vicky Kaushal is all set steal hearts as an Indian army solider in his upcoming film URI-The Surgical Strike. Produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP, the film is based on India Army’s surgical strike on terror launch pads across Line of Control (LoC).
The teaser was released today just a day before the second anniversary of the strike conducted by India in 2016.
Vicky Kaushal shared the teaser, as well as the first poster of the URI-The Surgical Strike on his Twitter handle. The actor looks intense in the poster of the movie where he can be seen dressed as an army man with a guns in his arms, the poster also shows the actor with his fellow army men who are ready to go on war.
“URI is a passion project, a story that must be told as it showcases India’s intelligence and military might. The youth of this nation must see who our real heroes are. ” Says Ronnie Screwvala.

As per reports in the Indian Express, Vicky Kaushal while talking about the film said, “When this film came to me and we had this discussion. I was really thrilled and kicked about it because this is one story that I feel that everyone needs to know. One of the fantastic army operations that the Indian army has conducted and with great efficiency. I also feel it is a great opportunity and also a responsibility for all of us to portray this story.”
URI – The Surgical Strike is set to release on January 11, 2018.
