In a recent interview when BA PASS-fame actress Shilpa Shukla was asked about her marriage, which has being going through a rough patch, the actress said that though she has reconciled with her husband she thinks that marriage is not something that defines her as a person.
“It’s not about reconciliation. We have already reconciled in a very spiritual way. In fact, the play that I’m doing is directed by him and it’s under our banner. These things are such personal journeys that you can never explain what you feel. All you know is that relationships like marriage are of great value, and I’m very grateful for this relationship. Everyone has their own personal life. I think that people should enjoy your performances. Because, anything that you do, your fans may think that this is the way to be.
“The good things I would love to spread, but anything that may hurt others is not something that I would like to do. Marriage is not what defines me. I look at marriages like it’s a manmade thing, just as religion is. I think there are things greater and more beautiful than these labels- husband and wife or girlfriend and boyfriend,” said the actress who was last seen on the big screen in the film ‘Crazy Cukkad Family’.
On the work front, she revealed that there was a phase in her life post ‘Chak De! India’ where she was in two minds of whether she was in the right profession. But thanks to the success of ‘BA Pass’, she is now clear about what she wants and that she is definitely her to stay!
Sharing it she said, “Actually, I had taken a break and I was not sure if I wanted to continue doing films. In 2010, I had left everything and gone to Delhi. I had already shot for ‘BA Pass’, and then in between, it did so well and then I got a call for ‘Crazy Cukkad Family’. Between 2010 and 2013, I was still deciding whether I was in the right place. So that’s why I was not available here and was not working by choice. But now, I am very much back with ‘BA Pass’ and ‘Crazy Cukkad Family’ which are going to be very crucial films in my life. I’m going to do more films since now I’m settled here.”
