Buzz is that actress Taapsee Pannu’s Urdu accent helped her in getting a role in the much-awaited action thriller ‘Baby’, alongwith actor Akshay Kumar. What’s more, the 27-year-old actress, who made her acting debut in Bollywood with the film ‘Chashme Baddoor’, says that she got excited when director Neeraj Pandey approached her for a role in his film ‘Baby’ because of her talent. It’s being said that the ‘Special 26’-fame director was in search for an actress whose dialect in Urdu was crisp and clear and his search ended at Taapsee, finally.
“All Neeraj asked me to do was to read a few lines which had quite a few Urdu words and phrases. Being a Punjabi girl, people expect me to have a north Indian influence in my speech, but to his surprise I managed decently well I guess,” Taapsee said in a statement.
The movie also stars actors Madhurima Tuli, Rana Daggubati, Danny Denzongpa and Anupam Kher, and is set to hit the theatres on January 23 next year.
