Ever since Sonali Bendre was diagnosed with Cancer, the actress has been working towards spreading awareness and to break its stereotype beliefs. She has shared her experience time and again on her Instagram, at events and interviews.
She recently talked about her survival journey at the Fifth International Conference which was organised by the Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organisation (CAHO). Sonali during interaction, revealed that after she was diagnosed she found out about other family members who also had cancer.
She recalled being taken aback and said, “I wish I knew about it. I wouldn’t have thought this would happen to me… I felt if this was so prevalent why did I not know about it.”
She went on to say, Cancer can happen to anyone and the treatment is scarier than the disease. “Early detection is most important. Right now the disease is less scary the treatment is actually more frightening and painful. If it were detected early, the cost of treatment would have been less. It would also have been a lesser painful treatment.”
“Lot of people said how could I get it as my lifestyle was so healthy. Even I was like ‘Why I have got it?’ Then I heard a lot of stories and realised anybody could get it,” she added.
Sonali was last seen in ‘Once Upon A Time in Mumbai Dobaara!’ for a cameo appearance. She hasn’t talked about any upcoming projects, but her recent confident and beautiful pictures on Instagram have fans waiting for her return.
