`Our Gang`s` last surviving actor Jean Darling dies

Washington DC : ‘Our Gang’ star Jean Darling has died due to natural causes at the age of 93 in Rodgau, Germany. The American child actress was the last surviving actor of the silent era and of the original cast of the comedy short film series, Deadline.com reported. Darling’s close friend Rene Riva, who directed her in 2013’s short silent comedy film ‘The Butler’s Tale,’ confirmed the death news of the actress, who started appearing in films from the age of 4. She later took some singing lessons and turned her attention to the stage where she made her debut in the musical ‘Count Me In’ in 1942. Darling appeared in 46 silent films and six talkies with ‘Our Gang.’
